Essential Oils Series
I’m really excited about this article series on Essential Oils. Their application in our daily lives goes way beyond simply making a room smell good. Did you know they can change your mood, ease an upset tummy, and heal a cut, literally? How cool is that? Now before I get into the specifics of individual essential oils, let me explain a bit of the science behind them.
In the 1980’s, Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology built a type of biofeedback machine that could measure vibrational frequencies of the human body, food, and even essential oils. A healthy human body resonates around 62 - 72 MHz. As our frequency drops, so does our immune system’s ability to fight off disease, so a cold or flu can start around 57 - 60 MHz. The human body is receptive to cancer around 42 MHz and death begins at 25 MHz.
Food also has a vibrational frequency, and guess what? The healthier the food, the higher the frequency. Broccoli is around 70 MHz, raw almonds 50 MHz, fresh herbs 20 - 27 MHz. Hamburger and chicken only vibrate around 3 - 5 MHz, and canned or processed foods have a frequency of 0. Those numbers give the saying “You are what you eat” a bit more punch.
Essential oils, however, have an even larger range of frequencies. Lavender oil resonates at 118 MHz. Frankincense 192 MHz. Rose oil 320 MHz and Idaho Blue Spruce 580MHz. Even thoughts and feelings have a measurable frequency. Negative thoughts can lower your personal frequency by 12 MHz, whereas positive thoughts can raise you 10 MHz. Pretty darn amazing, but why am I so excited about essential oils?
Essential oils are high in antioxidants, which control the damage (like wrinkles and cancer) caused by free radicals. Antioxidants work on a cellular level to support a healthy and youthful body. Now we can get lots of antioxidants from common foods, like cucumber, apple, broccoli, and blueberries, but essential oils have an even higher concentration of antioxidants. Where blueberries have a measured unit of antioxidants of 2,400, the essential oil patchouli has 494,271 units. Now that is a significant difference in power! You would have to eat a whole lot of blueberries to match the antioxidant strength of a few drops of patchouli oil. Don’t worry though, you don’t have to sacrifice your waistline to maintain your health. You see, essential oils are absorbed through the skin. They attach to body fats and fluid making their way through the body supporting your immune system. What’s even more fascinating is how essential oils can raise or lower the frequencies of whatever they come in contact with.
So how does all this science heal you? Well, essential oils work on the principle of entrainment. When two objects that are vibrating come in contact with each other, the object with the higher frequency will raise the vibratory quality of the lower one. When oils of differing frequencies are blended, they will merge and create a combined frequency. This ability is why essential oils can raise or lower your vibrational frequency making them some of the most potent and powerfully effective healers.
In this series of articles, I will go over an array of essential oils explaining just how each works on the body and why. The oils I will be talking about are from Young Living. They are therapeutic grade, not pharmaceutical or synthetic. So stay tuned to this area for more on essential oils!
